I have named my quilt. "Forever Spring".

Mother's Day present

This is what I got for Mother's Day this year. I have been wanting one of these for ages and looked on eBay last week and this was going. I picked it up for a good price.
The machine doesn't work but that is ok because I really wanted it as a hall table. It has come with more draws that I realised. It looks perfect in my lounge room. So there is no more furniture needed.

Sewing my backing fabric

Last night I sewed some fabric for the backing of a quilting made on the weekend.

I was very careful to cut it. I made sure I had the grain of the fabric going the same way. My seems we're all 1.5 in stitch length and it worked. Phew.

Now to pin quilt.

My Amazing Quilt

This is my amazing quilt.  I am just loving it.  It is a lot of work but I am learning
so much.  Here is just a sneak peak.  

Mothers Day

Wow I have to say it would have been one of the best ever as it was only my fourth mothers day. My little 3 year old was so excited it was mothers day. She insisted that I have mothers day breakfast in bed. I wondered where she had got this idea from when asked I was told because mummy pig had breakfast in bed from her much loved cartoon Peppa Pig and in it came with big smiles and cuddles. Bacon and eggs on toast made by my wonderful husband. We then set out for lunch. Note probably best to book somewhere otherwise you have to line up for a while. Anyway we did find somewhere not sure how healthy it was but the corn fritters were really yummy with lots of avocado and rocket on top. Sorry no photos I have to get that down pat yet. My First Post

WOW my very first post. I have been a little nervous to even start this blog but I thought it was time to start and record life as it is to me and my family.

Why is it called Under the Jacaranda Tree? Two reasons; I grew up in a town called Grafton where they have the Jacaranda Festival every year and the streets of Grafton are lined with jacaranda trees. And now I own a house which has a big Jacaranda tree in the front yard. So this is my life Under the Jacaranda Tree.
